Arena Physica

In the Arena: Adam Push

2 min read

I have been working on electronics for instrumentation applications for almost my whole career. Before joining Arena Physica, I was at Apple in Cupertino, CA for almost seven years, where I designed and integrated electronics and sensors for capacitive touch sensing and led teams doing the same. Before Apple, I was based in the Boston, MA area, working on medical device technology for several years where I focused on UV light disinfection systems and photoplethysmography sensing. Before that, I was at Draper in Cambridge, MA for a little over seven years, where I worked on instrumentation systems for applications like inertial guidance and navigation and low power wireless embedded sensing systems.

Today, I’m working on Atlas Desktop, Arena Physica’s agent harness for hardware engineering. I do a lot of dogfooding, leveraging my EE experience to find and explore opportunities to improve the harness and add new capabilities and features to accelerate hardware design.

I joined Arena Physica because I was really impressed with Arena Physica’s strong team and technology, and I love that I get to combine my hardware background with AI. We are all living through a unique time where AI is exploding in capability and thus opening up huge new opportunities to solve big problems. I am very excited to be working on a team at the frontier of that.

My favorite Arena Physica memory is how the team really made me feel welcome and part of the team on my very first day. They brought me in and enabled me to start contributing and shipping stuff immediately. I have only been here for one month so far, and hopefully there will be many more favorite memories to be made.

My advice for anyone interested in working at Arena Physica is to be really good at something, but be low-ego about it. Be ready and willing to take deep ownership of challenges, big and small, and drive them to completion. Be flexible and curious and excited to learn new things. If that sounds like you, we’re actively hiring for Electrical Engineers — you can learn more at arenaphysica.com/careers!

And in classic Arena Physica tradition, here’s my hot take: the best pizza is made in New Haven.
