I joined Arena Physica from Microsoft, where I was a Physical Design Engineer on Microsoft’s second-generation AI accelerator, MAIA 200. Prior to Microsoft, I studied Electrical Engineering at Caltech, where I played on the women’s soccer team and interned at NASA JPL, Microsoft, and Medtronic.
Today, I’m a Deployment Strategist at Arena Physica. Our team sits at the intersection of product, customer operations, and engineering, so every day looks different. Some examples of what I might be doing on any given day:
- Traveling to a customer to shadow their workflow and better understand their pain points, both in their day-to-day work and with our product.
- Creating circuit analysis eval sets to benchmark Atlas’s performance.
- Dogfooding a new demo flow that I’ll be presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Coding a prototype to get early customer feedback on a new post-silicon validation feature.
- Onboarding new users to Atlas or providing user support through our office hours.
- Unblocking our engineers or our customers in whatever way is needed! In this role, you own the outcome, which means being willing to get creative and take on unexpected responsibilities to achieve it.
Our customers and our team are brilliant, and I knew that by joining Arena Physica, I would be challenged and would grow in every area I wanted to, from product thinking and managing customer relationships to technical skills. I’ve been here for a year, but I still leave the office every day with something new to learn, and I find that incredibly motivating. In my previous role, I also missed the technical breadth I had been exposed to in school. I love that the customers I interact with work on everything from PCB design to systems engineering to post-silicon validation, and sit across industries ranging from space and automotive to gaming. I’m also very excited about the growth we’re experiencing as a company, both in terms of our customer base and in terms of new teammates.
When I think of my favorite memories from the past year, there are three I can’t choose between, but all are deployment-related:
- After a long day of meetings in SoCal, we went biking along the beach, got tacos, walked the pier at sunset, and ate s’mores by the fire at our hotel.
- Our team tried Texas BBQ in Austin and each of us rode the mechanical bull.
- I visited Taiwan for the first time and got to be a tourist on the weekend. My favorite sights were the Lungshan Temple, Elephant Mountain, and the hot/cold plunge pools in the hotel.
If you’re interested in joining us as a deployment strategist, the most important trait you need to possess is grit. I really appreciate how much we value grit at Arena Physica because it means you don’t have to walk in with the answer to everything. What matters more is being willing to dig into an unfamiliar problem, ask the right questions, learn quickly, and keep pushing until you figure out a path forward.
